‘Duo Dolcissimo’ is a unique ensemble combining the beautiful expressive sound of the oboe, rarely heard live, and the rich and varied sonorities of the piano.

The duo was formed in August 2012, after a successful recital at St Leonards Church in Bursledon, for the Southampton East Rotary Club. Fiona Jones and Sophie Aynsley have known each other for 16 years, having attended the same secondary school and youth orchestras.

We are a classical music ensemble, and our repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary, including many famous oboe works that may be instantly familiar to you.

After a successful series of concerts in 2016, we have a number of concerts lined up for 2017, and hope that ‘Duo Dolcissimo’ will continue for years to come.
